Thank you for your interest in applying for the King County Metro's Youth Transit Summer Internship. This program is an opportunity for individuals ages 15–18 to learn about public transit and related topics like sustainability, urban planning, and local government. The program will involve field trips, skill-building workshops, planning and staffing peer-to-peer outreach projects, engagement with bus drivers, social media content creation, and more. Participants will be expected to work in groups to complete projects and create a final presentation.
Take your time filling out the open-ended questions and ensure your answers are more than a couple sentences so we can fully understand your interest in this program. Students selected to participate will have a demonstrated interest in topics related to community, leadership, transportation, sustainability, or other relevant subject areas.
Please make sure answers are in your own words. We can identify when answers have been written by AI tools. We do not evaluate applications based on grammar or writing. Rather, we look at your interest and enthusiasm, in a response that is written by you.
People ages 15-18 who live, work, study, and/or play in the areas of Burien, White Center, SeaTac, and/or Tukwila are highly encouraged to apply.
