New Executive Director - Role and Available Resources

We are eager to welcome you into the Keep America Beautiful (KAB) family, and ensure your success as you transition into your new role.
A Keep America Beautiful Executive Director is the manager of the daily operations of the organization. We realize that your title may be something different (President. Coordinator, Director, etc.) but for purposes of this communication, we will use "Executive Director".
This individual joins the national network of affiliate professionals who help inspire and educate people to take action every day to improve and beautify their community environment.
Major responsibilities may include: • Managing daily operations of the KAB affiliate • Reporting directly to and coordinating with the Chairperson • Ensuring that all affiliate requirements are completed by August 1 to achieve President's Circle or September 15 to achieve Good Standing (Good Standing Requirements are outlined, here.) • Assisting the Treasurer/Finance Committee (when applicable) with the preparation and maintenance of the affiliate's budget; development of needs and operating requirements; supporting materials for fundraising efforts; and monitoring expenses •Along with Secretary, preparing and distributing minutes from the KAB affiliate board meetings •Maintaining the office; supervising the staff (if applicable) •Serving as the liaison between the national office and affiliate office (and state affiliate office, if applicable) •Preparing reports, news releases, media packets, media advisories, fact sheets and other program materials for public awareness •Conducting community workshops and trainings •Maintaining current media and contact lists •Orienting and training volunteers •Developing volunteer job descriptions •Preparing and implementing volunteer recognition
