Purpose: The goal of this community-based research project is to learn more about newcomers’ experiences of settlement, integration, and in- or exclusion.  We want to understand how these experiences impact newcomer well-being (for the purpose of this research, we define well-being as feeling well, healthy, happy, involving high life satisfaction and a sense of meaning and purpose). The goal is to find solutions to challenges faced by immigrants, refugees and migrants to Canada regarding their settlement and integration. This is an opportunity for newcomers to share their experience, and contribute to knowledge to the area of  settlement in Alberta.

Research team: This research project is funded by the Government of Alberta (Alberta Labour) and conducted by the Centre for Race and Culture, Edmonton. The research will be carried out by Rose-Eva Forgues-Jenkins (Project Assistant) and Myriam Gerber (Research Coordinator).
