Background

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) is a nationwide, not-for-profit, member-based community of physicians, researchers, clinicians, trainees and allied health professionals united by a dedication to elevate, educate and advocate for the heart health of all Canadians. Inspired by patients and empowered by members, staff and affiliated cardiovascular organizations, we
develop internationally respected, recognized and evidence-based care guidelines, influence cardiovascular care policies, share knowledge through publications and events, and provide
ongoing professional development.

As the national Society that develops and publishes Guidelines that are recognized globally, the CCS is uniquely positioned as a leader in optimizing care and outcomes for Canadians who live with cardiovascular conditions. The CCS actively promotes, informs, and supports the uptake and implementation of Guidelines into everyday practice by establishing and implementing needs and evidence-based Knowledge to Action strategies1.

Narrowing the gap between clinical practice guidelines (what we know) and practice change (what we do) remains a critical consideration for all organizations who have mandates to improve the lives of people who live with chronic disease and for those who are affected by acute and chronic clinical diagnoses.
