2018 Tristate Nursing Excellence Symposium |
Abstract Contact & Submission form instructions:
TNEC, the TriState Nursing Excellence Collaborative, is a group composed of the Magnet Program Directors from the Greater Cincinnati-Dayton/Northern Kentucky area hospitals. In an effort to create a comfortable forum for clinical nurses in the tristate to share their best practices and care innovations, TNEC is hosting their 5thTriState Nursing Excellence Symposium: Sharing Innovation and Best Practice on April 19, 2018.
TNEC is now accepting abstracts that showcase staff nurse led initiatives to improve patient care. TNEC aims to provide staff nurses in the tristate with an opportunity to share best practices and innovations that have had positive effects on patient care. In addition, this symposium supports the professional development of local nurses through poster and podium presentations.
A simple abstract submission form follows. The abstract will include: 1) background information of your project, 2) evidence used to identify the need, 3) the aim of the improvement, 4) a description of the methods, programs, or practices, 5) a description of the outcomes, including data, and 6) a conclusion. All abstracts must include 1-5 current (past 5 years) references. Abstracts should contain original work. Work that is in progress can also be submitted; please include expected outcomes. Preference is given to completed work.
Selected abstracts will be allotted a 20-minute time slot for a podium presentation (15 minute presentation with 5 minutes for questions) or will provide a poster presentation. Please indicate in the abstract submission survey if there is a preference to only do a poster presentation. To support professional development, TNEC will have coaches available to assist those staff nurses with accepted abstracts with their presentation preparation.
Due Date:
Abstracts must be submitted no later than November 1, 2017. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Acceptance notification:
Authors will be notified about the status of their submissions via email no later than November 30, 2017. All poster and podium presenters will be required to complete a Conflict of Interest form as part of continuing education requirements. All presenters must be registered for the conference in order to present and are responsible for their own registration expenses; registration information to follow.
