By annually having every program complete this report, the University remains in compliance with standard HLC 4.B.: The institution engages in ongoing assessment of student learning as part of its commitment to the educational outcomes of its students.

This report allows programs to present local outcomes data on their terminal student learning objectives/competencies. The outcomes to be reported are defined in terms of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that a student has attained at the end (or as a result) of his or her engagement in a set of higher education experiences. Student learning objectives and outcomes should not be confused with higher-level programmatic outcomes/goals which might include data pertaining to graduation, employment rates, program satisfaction, certification/licensure rates, etc. Although such indicators might be used as a proxy for instructional effectiveness, the UAC is most interested in how the terminal student learning objectives are locally evaluated to determine whether they meet the program’s defined expectations. If you have questions about this report, please email: University_Assessment@rush.edu.
