Itasca County's Jail/Facilities Survey

The Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC) has issued a Notice of Deficiency and has 'sunset' the Itasca County Correctional Facility effective September 2021.

This public survey is a tool by which the Itasca County Board of Commissioners wishes to collect public input regarding the direction of jail/facilities at this juncture.

* 3. The setup of Itasca County's current jail allows for an operational capacity of 97 beds and about 35 inmates are currently housed out (placed elsewhere) per day. Records indicate that Itasca County is currently in need of 160 beds to meet our current population trends (peak times). Forecasting indicates that the in-custody rate increases by 6% per year. Based on these numbers, please select the statement below you most agree with.
