This is a wide ranging survey asking about many different topics because researchers want to know how people’s attitudes and values and experiences in one part of life link to attitudes, values and experiences in other parts of life.

THIS IS A DEVELOPMENTAL SURVEY
The purpose is to test ideas and questions for our next national survey. If you want, you can take the survey while pretending to be someone else, playing a role instead of giving your own views.
WHO WE ARE
The ISSS is an international survey conducted by academic researchers. It is devoted entirely to academic research. It is non-profit and is not connected with any business, political party, or lobby group.
The ISSS was founded in 1984. We were originally at the University of Melbourne and the Australian National University and are now in the US, Poland, and Australia. This is developmental work for our 19th national survey. Results of our research appear in leading academic journals in sociology and biotechnology, in books, and in the media (find us on Google Scholar).
Mechanical Turk: In several places in the survey you will see comment boxes marked OPTIONAL. You need not complete these in order to receive your reward.
