For more than 25 years, IREC has recognized extraordinary individuals and innovative projects in the U.S. demonstrating how millions more of us can benefit from clean energy through equitable policies, practices and workforce training essential to building strong markets and ultimately a 100 percent clean energy economy.

The IREC 3iAwards honor innovation, ingenuity and inspiration from the nation's best in both renewable energy and energy efficiency. They are awarded annually for outstanding leadership and achievement in five categories: Community/Shared Renewables; State/Local Government Initiative; Regulatory Champion; IREC Accredited Training Provider; Young Clean Energy Innovator. All nominees must be U.S. based.

Winners of the 2019 IREC 3iAwards will be announced in September at Solar Power International in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Nomination submissions for the 2019 IREC 3iAwards will be accepted from May 1-31, 2019.

Nominations may be submitted by individuals, employers, universities, professional societies, not-for-profits, membership organizations, associations, community groups, or other sponsors. Nominators for individual nominees should know the accomplishments and capabilities of their nominee first-hand. Nominators of the award winners are cordially invited to the 3iAward ceremony.

Individual nominees must be U.S. based and should demonstrate a record of significant accomplishment in clean energy. Federal, state, and local government employees are eligible, including employees of the U.S. Department of Energy and its National Laboratories. Organizational nominees, including local, state and federal agencies, should demonstrate a strong commitment to clean energy technologies, practices and policies. IREC believes in spreading the word about our clean energy future and we will work with winners to prepare press releases for traditional and social media. Award winners will explain how they will publicize this to garner stakeholder and media attention. Organizations that have previously received an IREC 3iAward within the past five years are ineligible.
