Application Information

We are so pleased you have decided to apply to Island Oak High School. Before you complete your online admissions application, make sure you read the instructions below.

IMPORTANT ADMISSIONS DATES:

June 1 - Recommended Admissions Application and Tuition Grant Application Deadline for new students wishing to enter the school year in September.
October 1 - Students wanting to enroll for the second semester (starting in January), should submit their Admissions and/or Tuition Grant Application by this date.
Applications received after these dates will be reviewed on a rolling basis, depending on the availability of spaces.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Step One- Complete the online application and submit your supporting documents to enrollment@islandoak.org. The supporting documents are:
o   A copy of the student’s most recent report card                   
o   A copy of the student's birth certificate or passport 
o   For local BC families in need of tuition assistance, please complete and submit a “Tuition Grant Application” form
o   Payment of the application fee ($200 for local BC students and $350 for all other students). This can be done by email transfer to enrollment@islandoak.org, by cash or cheque (payable to Steiner Educational Society), by Paypal on our website, or by bank transfer. PLEASE NOTE: The application will not be processed until the application fee has been received. 

Step Two- Review of your application

Upon receipt of your admission application and fee, the Director of Enrollment and Faculty will review your application for acceptance. If there are no questions or concerns, you will receive your admissions decision within 2 weeks of your application fee payment. If the review committee have any questions, a faculty member may request an interview.

Step Three- Additional requirements

If an interview is required, the faculty member will set up a time with the student to conduct an interview at the school, by phone or Skype. The student may also be required to take a subject assessment. Following a thorough assessment, the Director of Enrollment will contact you with IOHS’s decision regarding acceptance.

Step Four- Confirming your enrollment

Upon acceptance, IOHS will send you an Enrollment package to complete. This package will contain helpful information and documentation, which must be returned to Island Oak to complete the registration. Students cannot start at IOHS until they have completed their registration and paid their tuition deposit.
