In recent months, the ARA has undertaken research and consultation to consider the viability of changing core trading hours in the City of Melbourne to leverage changes in consumer behaviour that have resulted in a shift in pedestrian foot traffic patterns.

Research conducted by the ARA has proven that the shift is real, with unmet consumer need between 5.00pm - 7.00pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and between 5.00pm - 9.00pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The ARA has also been raising awareness about the opportunities in relation to Twilight Trade through the media, social media and information sessions.

This survey aims to measure any change in business sentiment in response to these findings that the ARA's campaign to drive mainstream adoption of Twilight Trade, over time.
