The Best of the Best – The HR Hero of the Year Award

For 15 years, we have been recognizing HR leaders for their outsized contributions to their organizations and their communities. But, this year is surely in a league of its own!

Paraphrasing the Economist, boardrooms turned to their corporate finance chiefs when the financial crisis rocked the business world in 2007-09. During the 2020 pandemic, boards have relied on their HR chiefs to save the day. Among the monster challenges this year brought, HR took responsibility for the health and safety of its workforce, executed an overnight shift to a remote-work environment and developed a plan for the eventual safe return to work. HR leaders were tasked with maintaining morale amid furloughs and layoffs, regional forest fires and hurricanes, and social unrest.

"HR has been the rock that is getting employees through this crisis"
-Darren Kimball, CEO of GetFive

These unsung heroes in the HR community deserve recognition for their extraordinary contributions to business and community. Now, it is up to you to share the stories!
