The Hamilton Public Library (HPL) Board approved a two-month trial starting March 16 at Central Library to implement a library card check-in process to reduce the distribution and the consumption of illegal drugs in our spaces. The trial was implemented as an alternative to an emergency closure. Should the pilot prove successful, it could be a tool for future use to address an accelerating cycle of drug use in the Library.

We are interested in learning how both this pilot and the toxic drug crisis in general affect other interested organizations and learn from you. We have created a short survey for this purpose. The results will be shared anonymously. However, we are requesting your contact information so that we can follow up on any suggested actions, questions or comments. Your organization will be listed as a contributor in the report; your name will not appear.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey and for your feedback. If you have any questions about this survey, please contact our CEO and Chief Librarian at hplceo[at]hpl.ca
