Community Filmmakers: Write, Produce, Mobilize

Scribe is launching a Film Scholars Program, a new comprehensive series of documentary production workshops. Special support for this program is provided by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Are you interested in developing the skills to plan, raise funds, produce and complete new documentary media works? Then apply for Scribe’s Film Scholar’s program, a series of short form documentary video-making training workshops. To be eligible you must be a Scribe member, submit an application, commit to participating in all three workshops, Fundraising for Indie Film , Blueprint for Documentaries, and 14 Week Production Workshop (beginning in September 2017 through July 2018).

The cost of this program is $425. The cost of these three workshops if a participant enrolled in each and paid the fee would be $560. Film Scholars are receiving a discount of $135.

Additionally, Scribe is offering four Fellowships for participants who will receive a full tuition subsidy to participate in the Film Scholars program. Eligibility is limited to individuals who meet the following income guidelines: families with a combined annual income of less than $50,000 or an individual with an annual income of less than $35,000, as well as the other eligbility requirements of the program.

·       September 5, 19, and 26, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM - The First Workshop: Fundraising for Indie Film 

 

ELIGIBILITY

·Must be 18 years or older

·Must be a current member of Scribe Video Center

·Have been actively involved with video production for at least 12 months
