Clean and healthy lakes are the benchmarks of a healthy community. The Yahara Watershed and its five lakes define Dane County and Greater Madison through their natural beauty, significant contribution to the region’s economic vitality, and recreational offerings. While large investments have been made over the years to improve water quality, our lakes still fail to meet minimum federal water quality and usability standards. This is due to increasing climate impacts, such as heavy rain and runoff, and other factors threatening our progress.

Your input will be used to inform the development of a community action plan to improve lake and water quality within the Yahara Watershed. Whether you live in an urban or rural area, on a lake or on a farm, or do not use the lakes at all, your input is essential!
