Thank you for taking the time to submit an online recommendation on behalf of your Girl Scout in support of her application to serve on GSEMA’s Board of Directors.

Each year, up to four older girls (ages 14-17) are elected to the Board, contributing their input and perspectives to the policy issues that the Board decides on. Girl Board Members may participate in votes on all matters coming before the Board with the exception of those related to financial commitments and budgets. This is a great leadership opportunity for older girls as it offers extensive experience working in partnership with the adult board members to make a difference in how the council is governed.  And -- it is a great college application/resume builder.

Nominees will be listed on the slate of candidates to be voted on at GSEMA’s May 2018 annual meeting. Once elected, Girls will be expected to attend Board of Director meetings which are typically held in June, September, November, January and March. The board year term begins with the May 2018 annual meeting and concludes with the May 2019 annual meeting.

All online applications and recommendations are due by January 19, 2018 at 11:59 PM Eastern.
