Purpose: Healthcare professionals (both clinical and non-clinical), healthcare administrators, tribal leaders, and healthcare-professions trainees are invited to participate in a Gender-Affirming Care Gathering to:  (1) learn about best-practice health care for transgender and gender-diverse Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island, (2) to gain insights about Indigenous approaches to this care, and (3) to empower themselves and their healthcare systems to provide this care in IHS, Tribal, and Urban Indian (I/T/U) clinics and hospitals. This Indigenous gender-affirming care training is a cost-free 2.5-day program to be held on June 25-27, 2024 – with both in-person and virtual options for participating as well as the opportunity for enduring knowledge-sharing and support via cost-free virtual ECHO clinics held monthly at Indian Country ECHO. The training will provide an overview of gender-affirming care across the lifespan and will share strategies and considerations for implementing gender-affirming care in all healthcare systems serving Indigenous peoples, with specific focus on I/T/U clinics and hospitals. Clinical information, technical process measures and implementation strategies, and policy/law-related knowledge will also be reviewed, and success stories shared.  CE will be provided.

Please note registration for this event will close on June 18th at 11:59pm PT.
