We work at Michigan State University, and we are interested to learn about what makes you interested (or not) in science, and how your experiences in out-of-school programs support (or do not support) your interest in science!
Your school has agreed to be in our study. As part of this project, we would like to have you complete a research survey about your interest in science. The survey takes about 20 minutes.
Participation is voluntary. You will not receive any extra credit if you choose to participate in this study, and you will not lose credit if you choose not to participate in the study. If, at any time, you choose not to complete the survey you may stop or ask the researcher or your teacher to not include the survey in the study. There are no known risks involved in participating. Though it cannot be guaranteed, this research can potentially benefit you through your reflections on science and possible futures in sciences. Your confidentiality will be protected so that no one who sees your work will know your real name. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the researcher. We look forward to working with you.

Also, if you questions about your role or would like to offer input, you may contact, anonymously if you wish, the Michigan State University’s Human Research Protection Program at 5173552180, Fax 5174324503, or email irb@msu.edu or regular mail at 207 Olds Hall, MSU, East Lansing, MI 48824.
