1. SMART Survey Manager Training, Nairobi, Kenya

SMART (Standardized Monitoring and Assessment of Relief and Transitions) is increasingly used by various organizations as the standard survey method for nutrition and mortality surveys. In order to provide key-staff members with the most up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the methodology, the SMART Team delivers regional and national SMART Methodology trainings.

An inter-agency Regional SMART Survey Manager training will be organized by the SMART Team at Action Against Hunger-Canada and Amref Health Africa from November 27th - December 5th,  2017 in Nairobi, Kenya with breaks on December 2nd and 3rd.This training will be hosted by Amref Health Africa International Training Center in Nairobi. This training is intended for staff or persons involved in nutrition and mortality surveys in their agencies. Persons who will benefit most from this workshop are:

1. Persons from organizations / institutions directly responsible for the planning, supervision and/or data analysis of nutritional surveys.
2. Persons from organizations / institutions with experience in conducting nutritional surveys, but who need to improve their capacity using the SMART Methodology.
3. Persons with a basic understanding of malnutrition and statistical principles.
In this SMART Survey Manager Training, you will gain knowledge in how to define survey objectives, determine sample size & sampling strategy, recruit and train survey teams, supervise field teams, assess data quality, interpret results, and, finally, formulate recommendations and policy measures.

A training fee of USD $1,200 per participant will apply for the 7-day Survey Manager training. The training fees will cover all classroom instructions, practical exercises, training material and catering for the duration of the training. Additional payment details will be shared with the selected participants.

The following pre-selection forms will be reviewed by the facilitators of the SMART training and the most appropriate individuals will be selected to benefit from this training. It is important to note that filling out this form does not guarantee your place in the training, as the number of spots is limited.  Please make sure that you have filled out this form by Tuesday, October 17th, 2017.
