Dutchess County Food Service Safety Training Class

The Dutchess County Department of Health provides food service safety training classes for new and experienced owners/operators of food service establishments, as well as food service managers and anyone interested in learning about food safety.

The two-day food safety training class will be Monday, September 22nd and Tuesday, September 23rd from 9:30 am - 1pm each day. The training will be held in Room 113 at Dutchess County Emergency Response, 392 Creek Road, Poughkeepsie, NY.

To receive a Certificate of Completion, enrollees must attend both class days and score 70% or higher on the test.

This is not a ServSafe course but will cover the following topics:

- Top 10 contributing factors to foodborne illness outbreaks
- Consequences of having a foodborne illness outbreak linked to your food service establishment
- Personal Hygiene
- Understanding the flow of food through the kitchen – simple, intermediate, and complex food prep
- Temperature requirements associated with each step of the food preparation process
- Service
- General sanitation and maintenance of the food service establishment

Individuals interested in attending the class must pre-register no later than Monday, September 15, 2025.
