Big news from Library Towers. We’re planning an exhibition based around the amazing detective work that you all carry out on our National Library of Ireland photographs on Flickr. The exhibition will be in our Photographic Archive gallery in Dublin from this coming September to March 2018.

We’ll keep you posted on progress at this end. Meanwhile we’re hoping that some of you might like to get involved in the exhibition. So we’ve bundled a few quick questions together to test the waters. Please have a look, and let us know what you think by Friday 2 June...

And if you've any questions for us, please email Carol Maddock on

* 1. Who are you?

* 2.
We want to create a big "NLI Flickr Family Portrait" on one of the exhibition walls, featuring any of you who'd like to be a part of it.
If you would like to be in the Family Portrait, how would you like to appear?   (Click ALL that apply)   Please send high res JPEG(s) of your profile pic/photo(s) to

* 3.
If you would like to be part of the Family Portrait, what name or names should we include for you?   (Click ALL that apply)

* 4.
Would you like to give us a brief quote explaining what you like about our NLI Flickr stream? (Or even what you don't like, but don't get carried away with that now!)

* 5.
We might like to use your quote in the exhibition or on our NLI social media.
Is that ok with you?

* 6.
Putting you on the map!
We'd love to have a map in the exhibition showing where in the world our NLI Flickr people live.

* 7.
Can you give us your email address, please?
It'd be much simpler than using FlickrMail for us, and we'll only use this to get in touch with you about the exhibition, honest!

* 8. We hope to organise a Grand Flickroonie Get Together and Private View of the exhibition.
Are you interested in attending?

* 9. If you're interested in attending the Get Together, when would suit you best?  (Click ALL that apply)

* 10.
FINALLY  -  A Virtual Thank You!   We owe you all a huge debt of gratitude for the work you do on our photographs. As a very small thank you, we hope to digitise and make freely available online, something from our collections that would be of use to our NLI Flickroonies and other researchers. (This may not happen quickly, but we will do our utmost to make it happen!)
What do you suggest we should digitise?
