The Colonel Glenn A. Farris Scholarship recognizes the importance of hard work and dedication. As a West Point graduate, Colonel Farris had a distinguished military career capped off by his final duty as a member of the University of Florida Army ROTC cadre. Following his retirement, he spent ten years (1963-1973) at UF as a Foreign Student Advisor, ultimately assisting hundreds of exiled Cubans with gaining admission to UF. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
To determine if a student meets the University's definition of need, they must have completed the FAFSA. If the FAFSA results indicate a need then the student is considered eligible for a need-based scholarship from UF. In addition, for UF-AHA scholarship(s), the "Student Authorization to Release Financial Information" form must be complete (more information below).

Need-Based Status
Applicants who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ("FAFSA") are not required to submit any further financial documentation. Applicants not eligible for federal aid should complete and submit a copy of the Net Price Calculator Summary with the scholarship application. Net Price Calculator Summary is found at: https://npc.collegeboard.org/student/app/ufl

Student Authorization to Release Financial Information
For consideration for UF-AHA financial need scholarships, students must complete the "Student Authorization to Release Financial Information" form authorizing release to "UF Hispanic Alumni" (instructions below) found at ONE.UF (https://one.uf.edu/).

Below you can find links to a video from the UF Office for Student Financial Affairs and a PDF explaining the process to authorize permission to release need-based financial information to the UF Hispanic Alumni Association (UF-AHA).
