Focus on Curriculum Leadership II is designed for department heads and coordinators in schools and districts who are responsible for the various curriculum areas in middle and high schools. These seminars are primarily designed for those who have participated in Focus on Curriculum Leadership I in recent years OR who already have substantial experience in leading high school and middle school departments. An anchor text will not be used, but the program will feature articles in education and business that reflect current thinking in leadership -- essentially a humanistic view that focuses on service, relationship building, psychological safety, humility, and emotional intelligence as critical for educators who lead teams. As was the case in FOCL I, these sessions will be highly interactive and focused on the unique challenges that department heads/coordinators face as “middle managers.”
