Governing Board Nomination form Introduction and explanation The Aspen Library Software Foundation bylaws require an initial governing "Board of Directors" consisting of seven members (see bylaws, Article IV, section 2).Some of the initial board members will serve 1 year terms and some will serve 2 year term to create a staggered elections cycle for future boards (i.e. only about 50% of the board would potentially be new to the board each year).Once the board is established, the board will choose who serves as officers of the board.The officers of the initial board will include: A president (1 year term) A Vice-president/President-elect (2 year term serving their first year as Vice-president and their second year as President) A secretary (1 year term) A treasurer (2 year term) The remaining board members serve as representatives to the community at large.As explained in the bylaws (Article IV, section 4) no employee of any vendor to Aspen Library Software Foundation shall be eligible to run or be elected to serve as a member of the Board. That section of the bylaws also defines the term "vendor" in this context.If you would like to serve as a member of this initial board or if you would like to nominate someone to be a part of this initial board of directors, please fill out the following form.
