Introduction

WWPS Parents/Guardians,

On June 11 State Superintendent Reykdal announced that schools across the state of Washington should make plans to reopen in the fall of 2020 for in-person instruction for most students. While it is the expectation that districts plan for face-to-face instruction, social distancing requirements and facility limitations will require many districts to make modifications to their traditional school day. Additional safety measures have also been outlined for schools as they plan for a safe reopening for students and faculty.

While we anticipate receiving more information over the summer months from state leaders, this news provided Walla Walla Public Schools the information it needed to continue its 2020-21 Safely Reopening Plans and outreach. In addition to the significant parent, student and staff input already received in recent surveys regarding fall, we have dozens of faculty and community partners participating in ten different planning/input teams.

This survey will provide critical information to our work-groups from the parent perspective.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your input. Please complete one survey per child.

Respectfully,

Dr. Wade Smith
Superintendent
