About the scholarship

Florence Copper wants to "Cu" in school!
 
Florence Copper is proud to be in its 13th year of the Creating Opportunities Scholarship Program. Since the program was established in 2011, Florence Copper has awarded over $71,000 in scholarships to talented students in Florence and surrounding communities to help them pursue higher education.
 
Deadline
Complete this form by April 23, 2023, at midnight.
 
Student Eligibility
Applicants must live in Florence and/or attend school in the Florence Unified School District boundaries. Scholarships will only be awarded for full-time enrollment at an accredited two or four-year college, university, business, or trade school based in the United States (no correspondence schools accepted). The institution must be accredited by appropriate government, state, or education agencies. Proof of full-time enrollment may be required.
 
Selection Criteria
Scholarships will be judged and awarded by a committee comprised of Florence Copper staff members and advisors based on the following criteria:
  •  Academic, athletic, or other achievement (community, volunteer, etc.)
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Achievements, awards, and recognition at school, in the community, and/or personal activities
  • Creativity and quality of submission
 
Awards will be made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or other protected classifications.
