Evaluating the Impact AI Avatar-led Mental Health Interventions for keeping Employees in Work in partnership with University of Roehampton, LondonIn this study, you will interact with an AI-powered avatar, Remi, developed by InsideOut AI, designed to deliver personalised mental health interventions based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and mindfulness techniques to employees experiencing depressive symptoms.
Participants will be randomly allocated into one of two conditions;
- Intervention Group
- Treatment as Usual (TAU)
Participants in the intervention group will
- Complete an initial online assessment (10 minutes).
- Engage in six AI-led sessions over 4–6 weeks through InsideOut (10–15 minutes each).
- Complete a follow-up assessment after the intervention (10 minutes).
- Participate in brief interviews (optional) via Microsoft Teams or with the AI after pre- and post-surveys to discuss your experience.
Participants in the TAU group will
- Complete pre- and post-intervention questionnaires.
- Complete weekly well-being questionnaires. If your situation changes, we can connect you with additional support.
- Receive access to the intervention after 6 weeks (once the post-test is complete).
Time CommitmentThe total time commitment is approximately 1.5-2 hours over the duration of the study.
Eligibility CriteriaTo ensure your safety and that the programme is appropriate for your needs, we apply a set of eligibility criteria for participation in this study:
- You must be aged 18 or above.
- You must currently be experiencing symptoms of stress, anxiety or depression
- You must not be experiencing frequent thoughts of suicide or self-harm
- You must not currently be receiving any other form of psychological therapy.
