The National Center for Farmworker Health (NCFH) is now accepting workshop and poster presentation proposals for the Spring 2026 Agricultural Worker Health Symposium. Submission deadline is February 11, 2026.
Overarching Theme: From Field to Community: Food, Environment, and the Health of Agricultural Workers

The NCFH Spring 2026 Agricultural Worker Health Symposium will explore how transforming systems of food, environment, and care delivery can improve health outcomes for agricultural workers and their families. Through the exchange of innovative practices, applied research, and community-informed solutions, participants will examine strategies that address nutrition and well-being, environmental and occupational hazards, and access to care to bridge the journey from field to community. Workshops should emphasize real-world application, offering actionable strategies participants can implement immediately in their fields.
Session Focus Areas

Workshop proposals should align with one of the following areas:

Nutrition and Well-Being

This track focuses on strategies to improve health outcomes through nutrition and lifestyle interventions, including, but not limited to:

- New and emerging dietary guidelines
- Chronic disease prevention and management programs
- Addressing obesity in agricultural worker communities
- Mental health interventions
- Substance use disorder programs
- Tobacco cessation strategies

Responses to Environmental Impacts on Health
Sessions in this track will examine environmental conditions that directly affect agricultural worker health, including, but not limited to:

- Heat-related illness prevention and mitigation
- Pesticide exposure risks and protective strategies
- Workplace interventions to reduce environmental harm

Access to Care for Agricultural Worker Families
This track highlights innovative models and partnerships that expand and strengthen access to care, including, but not limited to:

- Reducing barriers to healthcare services
- Family-centered and community-based care models
- Outreach, mobile health, and cross-sector collaboration
Workshop Submissions
We are currently seeking applications for workshops to be presented at the NCFH Spring 2026 Agricultural Worker Health Symposium. Applicants are reminded that workshops should go beyond informational delivery and also include an interactive component to engage participants and enhance learning.
Possible interactive/participatory activities during workshops may include, but are not limited to:

Group learning circles

Practical demonstrations or skill-building activities

Scenario and/or problem-solving role play exercises

Motivational interviewing/team building exercises

Action planning Developing patient health materials or toolkits
