This UC Davis Equity Summit Award honors and celebrates youth activists!

“I’ve been on a path, what I believe my life’s purpose is, to teach, to help, to love, to give, to grow. I want to change the world. I want my community to rise up.”– Brandon Harrison
In the early morning hours of October 15, 2017 Brandon was shot and killed leaving a party in Stockton, California. Brandon was an active participant in the Equity Summit and the SAYS Summit College Days at UC Davis. As a youth organizer, he was leading the boys and men of color work locally in Stockton as part of Sierra Health Foundation’s Positive Youth Justice Initiative through Fathers & Families of San Joaquin, was part of Dr. Ross’ President’s Youth Council through The California Endowment, and was a leader at the statewide level through his work with the Alliance for Boys and Men of Color and the #FreeOurDreamsCampaign.
