Introduction

Help Northern Santa Barbara County take advantage of a once-in-a-decade opportunity!

A thriving economy requires giving industries and businesses what they need to succeed. Infrastructure is an important part of this picture, and supportive infrastructure takes many forms. In a high-performance region, it includes good access to highways and byways, high-speed internet, affordable energy, and commercial real estate availability. It addresses intermodal transportation and logistics. The EconAlliance Infrastructure/Broadband Initiative addresses the Northern Santa Barbara County infrastructure assets facilitating trade and commerce and supporting industry and business retention, expansion, and attraction in the area.

Policymakers are discussing infrastructure funding levels not seen in years!

EconAlliance’s last infrastructure survey was generated prior to COVID and prior to the current federal government funding scenario favoring broad infrastructure support. Infrastructure funding at the levels we are hearing come about rarely, and we want to give our Northern Santa Barbara County industries and companies a voice in sharing their infrastructure needs before funding decisions are final.

Survey input data will be presented collectively in the fall to elevate the needs of key Northern Santa Barbara County industries. To garner more policymaker attention on infrastructure needs in our area, the United Way Northern Santa Barbara County is distributing a companion survey to public and nonprofit sector stakeholders, so that we can emphasize where infrastructure needs of the private and public sectors converge. A joint presentation on Infrastructure survey results by EconAlliance and United Way will take place in November, and survey respondents will be invited to attend.

All survey information collected will be summarized without attribution unless we have a firm’s approval. Final survey questions request contact information simply to contact you to help analyze or clarify responses, or to advise respondents of possible programs, services, or opportunities.

Please feel free to complete this survey electronically or request a hard copy from initiatives@EconAlliance.org.

Survey responses are due by close of business November 18.
