Thank you for your interest in applying to judge the APM Education and Research Awards 2026. This is a rare and valuable opportunity for experienced project professionals to give something back to the profession and gives an exclusive insight into the fascinating work each entrant has accomplished.
Each category has a dedicated panel of up to five judges. It is the role of the judge to allocate time to score each entry submitted under their given category or categories. Please note that depending on the category judged and the number of applications this could be as much as 15 hours over a four week period (average 10 hours).
The Award categories are as follows:
- Project Management Apprentice of the Year
- Project Management Graduate of the Year
- Project Management Postgraduate Dissertation of the Year
- Project Management Doctorate of the Year
- Project Management Educator of the Year
- Research Paper of the Year
- Developmental Programme of the Year
Key dates for your diary:
20 January 2026 - 14:00 (GMT) Judges' training (virtual session)
26 January - 2 March 2026 Judging (written entry review)
29 April 2026 Awards ceremony Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, Manchester, UK
Please note that the judges training is mandatory in order to carry out your role. If you are unable to make this date please indicate this on your application so that we can make arrangements accordingly.
Judges recruitment closes on 11 December 2025. We will not contact you about about whether you have been successful in your application until after this date and no later than Friday 7 January, ahead of training on the Monday 20 January.

*On completion of all judging assignments, judges will be entered into a ballot, where a number of tickets have been allocated for judges to attend the the Education and Research Awards ceremony dinner. The dinner is to be held on 29 April at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, Manchester, UK. Please note that this does not include travel expenses or overnight accommodation.
