Dear friends, we would very much appreciate your participation in a short survey that focuses on the often-overlooked symptom of drooling (sialorrhea). Research shows that this affects 75-80% of people with Parkinson’s and is described as excessive or uncontrolled saliva beyond the margin of the lip.

It should take you no more than ten minutes to complete this questionnaire.

The EPDA is working on this survey with our partner Merz Therapeutics (a business unit of Merz Pharmaceuticals GmbH) and an independent research agency. We can assure you that all answers will be treated anonymously and confidentially – no personal information will be passed on.

Before you agree to take part, please note the following:

Question Title

* 1. You are about to enter a survey that asks about your experience with Parkinson’s, its symptoms and potential therapies; your responses will, of course, be treated confidentially. However, for drug safety reasons, we are required to pass on to our partner Merz Therapeutics, who is a manufacturer of medicines, details of any side effects that may be reported in the online survey. Should you mention in your responses any side effect arising after being treated with one of Merz's medicines, we will need to forward this information to them so that they can learn more about the safety of their medicines.

In such a situation you will be contacted by us to ask whether or not you are willing to waive the confidentiality given to you under the Market Research Codes of conduct specifically in relation to that adverse event. Every other piece of information you provide during the course of the interview will continue to remain confidential, and you will still have the option to remain anonymous if you wish.
