Welcome to the City of Denton's 2023 Climate Action and Adaptation Survey!

The City of Denton is a regional leader in sustainability, having begun formalized planning with its 2012 Simply Sustainable Framework and update in 2020.
The City recently joined the Cities Race-to-Zero campaign - thereby becoming a part of a global effort to halve global emissions by 2030 and deliver a healthier, fairer, zero-carbon world in time to prevent catastrophic impacts of climate change.
Locally, we are creating a formal Climate Action Adaptation Plan (CAAP) that mitigates and addresses the effects of climate change in the Denton community while meeting its climate targets. The plan will be completed in Summer 2023.
We want your help in fine-tuning the proposed actions. This survey will help the City understand your priorities and needs, and develop a CAAP that can be implemented successfully across the community.
What to Expect
This survey is organized in the following sections:

  • An introduction to the challenge in front of us (some of this information may already be familiar to you, so please skip through the pages with content you already know).
  • This section will focus on Community Concerns and Observations
  • This section will focus on proposed Climate Actions, and your thoughts on them
  • A bit about you so we understand who is providing feedback and who we haven't heard from.

Estimated time: 10-15 minutes
How your input will help shape the CAAP
Your feedback from this survey and public feedback from our focus groups and workshops with the Sustainability Framework Advisory Committee (SFAC) will help us fine-tune the CAAP so it will have the greatest chance to be successful. The CAAP and its proposed actions will go to the City of Denton Council for decision in Summer 2023
