What is the NPP?
The Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) is a five-year grant from the NJ Department of Community Affairs that is designed to generate visible, tangible change in the Downtown Neighborhood driven by local residents and business owners. Downtown Trenton (from Route 1 to N Willow Street, Lafayette to Perry Streets) is one of 40 NPP areas statewide.

What is the NPP Lighting Enhancement Program?
This program will fund the purchase and labor/installation of one Light Black Motion Activated Outdoor Integrated LED Wall Lantern Sconce to the front side of a property, located in the NPP.

What are the requirements?

  • Lighting improvement must be visible from the street.
My property does not have a porch light and needs rewiring/drilling in order to install a light fixture. Am I eligible to apply?
Yes, you are still eligible to apply. As funding allows, we will fund this improvement and pay for an electrician to install wiring, if necessary.

When is the deadline?
October 3, 2022

Applications will be reviewed and awarded by the NPP Stakeholders Group on a rolling basis.

Isles will connect the applicant/property owner with a contractor to schedule a lighting installation.
