Introduction
I am Jennifer Salters, and I am a doctoral candidate at the American College of Education. I am doing research under the guidance and supervision of my Chair, Dr. Crystal Neumann. I will give you some information about the project and invite you to be part of this research. Before you decide, you can talk to anyone you feel comfortable with about the research. This consent form may contain words you do not understand. Please contact me at jennifer.salters0711@my.ace.edu or by telephone at 908-803-4834 if you have any questions, and I will explain. If you have questions later, you can ask them then.

Purpose of the Research
You are being asked to participate in a research study that will assist in understanding if there is a correlation between leadership styles and project outcomes. This quantitative study will examine the leadership styles and project outcomes of construction projects.

Research Design and Procedures
The study will use quantitative methodology and a correlational research design. Online surveys will be disseminated to specific participants within the construction project management community. If you agree to this study, I will ask you to complete the following steps:

1) Complete a 5-minute Demographic survey that describes your current role, organization, and construction projects completed in New Jersey or Bogotá, Columbia, in the past 12 months.
2) Complete a 10-minute Project Implementation Plan that describes the last project that you have completed.
3) Complete a 15-minute Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Leader Form (5X-Short) that describes your current supervisor or manager. Click on the provided link, and the survey will open in a separate window. You are required to carefully read the instructions and thereafter fulfill the evaluation.

The study will comprise 109 participants who meet the participant criteria and will participate in this study. The study will involve taking online surveys to be completed on your own computer.

Participant Selection
You are being invited to take part in this research because of your experience as a construction project industry employee who can contribute much to the study as you meet the criteria for the sample population. Participant selection criteria: are a member of the Project Management Institute, have at least 3 years of construction project experience, are at least 25 years of age or older, and work with a team of 5 or more people.

Voluntary Participation
Your participation in this research is entirely voluntary. It is your choice whether to participate. If you choose not to participate, there will be no punitive repercussions, and you do not have to participate. If you select to participate in this study, you may change your mind later and stop participating even if you agreed earlier.
Procedures
We are inviting you to participate in this research study. If you agree, you will be asked to take an online survey. The type of questions asked will range from a demographic perspective to direct inquiries about construction project leadership styles, employee performance, and project outcomes.

Duration
The survey portion of the research study will require approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you are qualified to participate in the construction project management quantitative correlational study, you will have two weeks to complete all the surveys.

Risks
The researcher will ask you to share personal and confidential information, and you may feel uncomfortable answering some of the survey questions about some of the topics. You do not have to answer any question or take part in the discussion if you don’t wish to do so. You do not have to give any reason for not responding to any question.

Benefits
While there will be no direct financial benefit to you, your participation is likely to help us find out more about construction project management success and if there is a statistically significant difference exists in leadership styles, employee performance, and construction project outcomes. The potential benefits of this study will aid the construction project management industry in developing tools to increase project success performance levels.
