Stormwater Management in the Cabin John Creek Watershed

Thank you for taking this survey conducted by Friends of Cabin John Creek (FoCJC), your local volunteer watershed protection group.

As you know, Friends of Cabin John Creek launched a Stormwater Solutions program two years ago, with a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Montgomery County RainScapes Program.  The goal of the program was to help Cabin John Creek Watershed residents improve stormwater run-off issues on their properties and in the area.  As part of the program, members of FoCJC and our partner neighborhoods were asked to take an anonymous five-minute survey to measure existing stormwater awareness before any outreach from the program took place.  Your responses were used by FoCJC to focus the Stormwater Program to better meet your needs and those of the community.  The initial survey results also gave us a baseline of community knowledge to compare to when the program wrapped up.

The current grant is coming to an end soon, but our Stormwater Solutions program will go on with the support of a new grant that starts in April.  For now, we know that many homeowners are planning to install stormwater management solutions and apply for RainScapes Rewards rebates, but have not yet done so.  FoCJC will continue to assist homeowners as they install projects and work through the county’s RainScapes program.  In the meantime, we will still need to meet the current grant’s requirements: in this case, to conduct a closing survey to mirror the opening survey.

We invite you take the closing survey now, WHETHER OR NOT YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST SURVEY.  Those of you who did take the opening survey will find that it is very similar to the first survey, although not identical.   We ask about any stormwater issues that you might have run into, and what you have done, might, or will do about them.   And wherever you are on the continuum of dealing with stormwater issues and solutions, we welcome your input.  Again, it will not take you more than five minutes and is anonymous. We appreciate your participation.

Funding for this Watershed Restoration and Outreach grant project was provided by the
Montgomery County, MD Water Quality Protection Charge and managed by the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
