EF 2026 CTE/CTAE and STEM Professional Learning Tour - Dominican Republic

The professional learning application process is open to all active central office and building level administrators and leaders working with students in grades 6-12 in the fields of CTE/CTAE and STEM.

The focus of this professional learning tour will be connecting the CTE/CTAE and STEM classroom to the global classroom and will take place in the Dominican Republic January 15-19, 2026.

As a part of this professional learning experience, you will build your knowledge of global competence, gain a deeper understanding of the skills that today's students will need to be successful in tomorrow's world (and why), as well as expand your professional network.

Participants can expect to:
1. Expand your network of globally-minded administrators from around the country
2. Increase your own global competence
3. Bring your learnings back to your district in order to support and/or implement a plan to provide travel-based learning opportunities for your students

Learning opportunities will include:
- Participate in agricultural science workshops centered on local produce cultivation, soil analysis, and global supply chains
- Experience the Insituto del Ambiente for STEM partnership in the environmental sciences
- Environmental restoration in Boca Chica
- Explore Santo Domingo to understand it’s deep history

Applications will be evaluated based on applicant’s commitment to developing global education initiatives in their school district.

Finalists will be asked to complete a virtual interview via Zoom.

Recipients will be notified in late September.
