2022 DEYA Youth Stage Organization Performance Application & Submission
 
DEYA, an initiative of the Children's Foundation, invites Detroit youth arts organizations, that serve youth between the ages 14 to 19, to apply to perform at the 2022 Concert of Colors. Entries can include dance, vocal, instrumental, spoken word, and/or musical theatre.
 
Deadline:  May 9, 2022, 11:59pm
 
Selected organizations will receive $1500 and perform 20-30 minutes on the DEYA Youth Stage at the University of Michigan Detroit Center's Wolverine Outdoor Stage, outside the DIA, on Saturday, July 23rd, between 1 - 5pm.
 
Requirements: Detroit-based organizations must:
  • Serve youth between the ages of 14 to 19.
  • Serve Detroit residents, and/or youth who attend school full-time in Detroit, and/or spend 6+ hours a week working with your Detroit-based organization.
  • Apply online by May 9th, 2022, at 11:59pm.
  • Submit a 3-to-5-minute video recording of dance, vocal, instrumental, spoken word, and/or musical theatre performances.
    • The contestant/performer must perform alone. The song can be sung without recorded accompaniment (a capella), with the performer accompanying themselves (on keyboard, guitar, etc.), or by using recorded music as accompaniment. If a backing track or karaoke version is used, no vocals can be on the recorded music. Music samples are allowed if the solo performer is manually activating them as part of the performance.
    • MP4, MOV and WMV file formats are accepted.
