Cummins Highway Trial Traffic Configuration (English)

The City of Boston plans to reconstruct Cummins Highway between River Street to Harvard Street in the future. Right now, we are testing a new traffic setup using temporary pavement markings and flexposts. This setup we are testing preserves parking along the corridor, reduces the amount of travel lanes to one in each direction to reduce vehicle speeds and make it safer to cross the street, and it creates safe and protected bike lanes to improve connectivity.
