The Center for Workplace Mental Health, a program of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, is conducting this pulse survey to better understand the needs and experiences of the construction industry pertaining to mental health issues.  The co-sponsors of this survey are the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), CSDZ, and Holmes Murphy & Associates.

Although we recognize suicide prevention is an extremely important issue within the construction industry, the scope of this survey is limited to mental health and substance use disorder issues.

Intended Audience:  The intended audience for this survey is leaders, managers and supervisors of construction companies, and labor unions/trusts. These are the entities that employ construction craft/trades-workers.

This survey is not intended for:

·       Craft/Trades-workers

·       Professional partners of construction companies (such as Accountants, Bankers, Business and Insurance Advisors, IT/Software Providers, Lawyers, and/or Sureties – these professionals are encouraged to share the survey with their construction company clients).

Findings: Findings from this survey will be reported so that no identifiable information relating to either individuals or organizations will be disclosed. Information collected in this survey will also be used to develop resources and tools to benefit the mental health and well-being of individuals employed in the construction industry.
