Gunnedah Shire Council is developing its Disability Inclusion Action Plan and needs your help!

The aim of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan is to ensure that people with disability who live, work and visit the Gunnedah Shire have equal access to Council services, facilities, programs and events.

Why have a Disability Inclusion Action Plan?
Gunnedah Shire Council is committed to improving opportunities for people of all ages with a disability to access the full range of services and activities available in the community. The Disability Inclusion Action Plan will prioritise the actions Council needs to take over the next four (4) years to make this happen.

What is Inclusion?
Inclusion means a community where all people (regardless of disability, age, gender, religion, sexuality or culture) who wish to, can join fully in activities and services in the same way as any other member of the community.

Who would we like to hear from?
If you or someone you know has a permanent or temporary disability/impairment (i.e. physical, sensory, cognitive, intellectual, or other related conditions) and you live in or visit the Gunnedah Shire, then Council wants to hear your opinion. We also want to hear from family, friends, supporters, carers and services supporting people with a disability, and anyone else in the community who is interested in access and inclusion.
Why fill in a survey?
·       You can tell Council about the real access and inclusion issues that matter to you
·       Your voice and opinion is important to us.
·       You will make a difference to your local community

Can I give my opinion without doing the survey?
