Join KC’s Diversity and Inclusion Conversation!

The Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with a number of partners on a regional survey to measure the current business climate for diversity and inclusion in the metro area. We’d like to know what you’re thinking and doing, identify regional best practices and areas of need.

Your response is very valuable to us, even if you currently do not have formal policies regarding diversity.  So please take this brief survey about your workforce, workplace policies, supplier diversity efforts, and more. Keep in mind that your information is confidential.  Unless you give us permission to highlight the excellent work your particular business is doing, results from the survey will be reported based on what the group of businesses is doing.  Information from the survey will then be delivered at the KC Chamber’s POWER of Diversity Breakfast on July 26, 2017.  We encourage you to join us for the presentation to learn more about the results of this regional diversity benchmarking, and the potential for building progress and momentum. Companies achieving excellence in diversity and inclusion, based on survey results, will receive recognition for their successes at the July 26th event. 

Definition of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I).   Diversity in the workforce means respecting and appreciating differences in, for example, race, culture, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, people with a disability, religion, veteran status, class, and education.  Inclusion is about focusing on the needs of every individual and ensuring the right conditions are in place for each person to achieve his/her full potential.
