Cardinia Shire is classified as Metropolitan Melbourne, meaning residents are stuck with harsh Stage 4 restrictions. This is despite most of the area consisting of farms and acreage properties.

Should towns like Nar Nar Goon, Lang Lang, Garfield and Bunyip really be classified as Metro Melbourne? For example, Bunyip is less than 5km from Longwarry, which is not under harsh restrictions. You could walk there!!

A more sensible outcome is for Cardinia to be split up into designated Regional and Metro sections.
