The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has prepared a draft plan for Lake Calhoun/Bde Maka Ska and Lake Harriet, both part of the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes Regional Park. The draft plan sets a vision that will guide park improvements over the next 25 years. It is based on a ten month community engagement process and considers how parks are operated, maintained, and improved.

The draft plan consists of thirteen chapters, each a separate pdf for ease of viewing. The master plan includes recommendations about five topics (Natural Resources, Access and Circulation, Recreation - Events - Enterprise, Historical and Cultural Resources, and Equity). An additional two chapters show plans and recommendations for nine focus areas with specific geographic locations around the two lakes.

Your comments will be cataloged and categorized for their impact on the master plan. A summary of public comments will be reviewed by the Board of Commissioners when they consider approval of the master plan.
