Award Criteria

The Legacy Award is presented by the United States Center for Coaching Excellence to honor an individual who has made significant contributions to the field of sport coaching education and coach development in the United States. The award is given annually when a deserving applicant is identified.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:
• A coach educator/developer who has been involved in the profession for a minimum of 20 years.
• A coach educator/developer who has made significant contributions to academic and/or professional practice knowledge in coaching education and coaching science as evidenced by a distinguished record of academic publications, applied publications, the development of outstanding educational materials and programs, and/or via major contributions to sport organizations.
• A coach educator/developer who has provided significant to service to professional organizations in coach education/coach development in the United States.

Self and peer nominations are accepted.
Nominations must be complete and sent to the USCCE by March 1, 2024 for consideration.
