Introduction
Council is seeking community feedback on the Draft Open Space Strategy which is on public exhibition. The Strategy sets a long-term vision for the management of our parks, playgrounds, and sporting facilities.
The draft strategy recognises that while our Shire has an extensive network of open spaces, some sites are not as frequently used or developed as others. A number of smaller “pocket parks” have been identified for possible reclassification from Community Land to Operational Land. This would give Council the flexibility to consider future redevelopment opportunities, with any proceeds reinvested into priority community projects such as destination play spaces, sporting complexes, and upgraded recreation hubs.

We understand that this is a sensitive issue, and your views are important in helping Council strike the right balance between preserving local identity and delivering high-quality facilities for the future.
