Leonard "Brother B" Bonelli has a long association with The Virgin Islands Olympic Committee and with its Olympic teams. Since 1972 until his recent retirement, he has served on the Executive Board of the VIOC in the capacity of Treasurer. In addition he has served as Chief of Mission for multiple V.I. Olympic Teams.

His functions as a volunteer in these capacities have resulted in his touching just about every Virgin Islands Olympian.
