The City and County of Denver is working with communities to create complete transportation networks, implementing a new strategy for planning multimodal networks and rapidly building out high-comfort bike projects through this program.

Your feedback on the proposed improvements below will help us plan and design the projects that best meet the community’s needs.

The following survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Thank you for your input!
S Cherokee / 1st Ave

Question Title

This project provides a key connection between the existing N Bannock St Bike Lane, and Alameda Station to the south. Through the Baker Neighborhood Transportation Management Program, S Cherokee St was determined to be the preferred alignment for a north/south bike lane through the neighborhood by residents. The design for this project is now being advanced through the South Central - Community Transportation Network.

Given the speeds and volumes of S Cherokee St from 1st Ave to W Alameda Ave, a bike lane is needed to maintain a comfortable riding experience for less confident bicyclists. From W 1st Ave to W Bayaud Ave, parking on both sides of the street will need to be repurposed to accommodate the installation of the bike lane. From W Bayaud Ave south to W Alameda Ave, parking will need to be repurposed from one side of the street to accommodate the bike lane.

Please provide your feedback on the proposed changes to the street to create a safer street for pedestrians, bicyclists and other users of the roadway.

Question Title

* 3. What are your top two concerns related to safety and mobility along this corridor today? (Check all that apply)

Question Title

* 4. The project proposes the removal of parking along the corridor. Repurposing this parking will provide space to install a dedicated bike lane along the corridor. Bike lanes are linked to increased safety for all roadway users, by helping to moderate travel speeds, improving sight lines at intersections, decreasing crashes, and improving predictability of all roadway interactions.
