The Skills Development Fund COVID-19 Special Initiative is a new program from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) in direct response to the COVID-19 Pandemic Outbreak. Grayson College Center for Workplace Learning has applied for funding from TWC that awards grants to applicants responding to the employment and training needs of business partners adversely affected by COVID-19.  These grant awards supply full tuition scholarships for high-demand training needs by Texoma businesses, and where a labor shortage for essential workers has been identified.

Your replies will remain confidential and will not be individually released to any party or agency outside the college. 

Scholarship recipients will be notified Wednesday, March 24th by 5:00pm via email.
Previous scholarship recipients are not eligible for additional scholarship funding.

* 1. Before you begin, please read and understand the following statements:
  • Applicants must be a resident of Grayson or Fannin County.
  • You must be 18 years of age in order to qualify for scholarships.
  • Training programs are instructed as a hybrid. Lectures and coursework are online and skills labs are face to face.  A laptop or desktop computer and reliable internet is required.
  • Unanswered questions on this survey will immediately disqualify applicants.
  • Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a free academic and skills aptitude assessment at Grayson College.
  • Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a 20-hour, hybrid Workforce Skills and Job Search course PRIOR to beginning their training program. If not completed, any prior offer for a scholarship will be void.
  • Scholarship recipients will be required to complete a CPR for Healthcare Providers/Basic Life Support certification class prior to the end of their training program unless able to provide evidence of a current certification with more than six months remaining.
  • If you have an outstanding balance at Grayson College you will not be enrolled in the training program until the balance is resolved.
  • If possible, during this application please be prepared to upload your immunization record to this application.
  • Grant awards are intended for individuals who are seeking immediate employment in the training program field.
  • Scholarship recipients must seek employment within a healthcare field earning a competitive wage immediately following training program completion. Grayson College will provide job search assistance.
