Use of Unlicensed Personnel to Perform Radiologic Technology Procedures Survey

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA) have, over the last 12 months, reviewed survey information and complaints regarding the use of and outcomes related to the use of unlicensed personnel performing radiologic technology procedures in Kansas health care facilities. As a result of this review, KDHE and KSBHA held a stakeholder meeting in mid-June to gather feedback and discuss any potentially needed changes regarding the exemption from licensure in performance of radiologic procedures, as outlined in K.S.A 65-7304. To that end KHA seeks to gather feedback from our members to understand the extent of the current use of unlicensed personnel performing radiologic technology procedures, and how KHA members may be impacted if KDHE and KSBHA were to make changes that would change or restrict this practice. Your feedback is important to better understand current use of this practice. Individual responses will be kept confidential and any results shared will be in aggregate form. Please complete this brief survey by Monday, July 20. For any questions about this survey, contact Larry Van Der Wege at lvanderwege@kha-net.org. Thank you!
